 Mohammad Hafeez Slams Former Captain Babar Azam: Former Pakistan cricket team director Mohammad Hafeez recently criticized the team's culture, former captain Babar Azam, and ex-director of cricket Mickey Arthur. Hafeez, who was appointed after Pakistan's poor performance in the 2023 ODI World Cup, oversaw the team's disappointing tours to Australia and New Zealand. They lost a Test series to Australia 3-0 under Shan Masood's captaincy and a T20I series to New Zealand 4-1 under Shaheen Afridi's leadership.

Hafeez, despite having a four-year contract, was let go from his position. He expressed concerns about the team's fitness culture, stating that Pakistani players aren't fit for international cricket. He mentioned that Babar Azam and Mickey Arthur had instructed trainers to ignore player fitness levels.

As per  Mohammad Hafeez Slams Former Captain Babar Azam During an interview on a Pakistani sports channel, Hafeez revealed that when he advised players to focus on fitness, the trainers told him that six months prior, Babar Azam and Mickey Arthur had instructed them to stop checking players' fitness levels.

Hafeez emphasized that poor fitness was a significant reason for Pakistan's dismal performance in Australia and New Zealand. He stated that many players couldn't complete a 2 km run, and their fat levels exceeded the limit by 1.5 times. Hafeez believed that ignoring fitness standards would lead to continued defeats for the team.
