Bayern Still Waiting For Spurs Response to 'Final' Kane Offer

Bayern Munich are still waiting on a response from Spurs regarding their final Kane offer, believing he is worth more than EUR100m including add-ons, but are prepared to pursue other targets if their initial bid goes unaccepted.

Tottenham's all-time top scorer Harry Kane is in his final year of contract and Bayern fear losing an elite player for free next summer.

1. Levy’s response

Levy knew it would be futile for him to pursue any better offer from City. They offered five players in part exchange, none of whom would persuade Kane away from Tottenham he loved so dearly.

That left him with two options: either accept City's offer of signing Kane for free next season; or risk having him leave without compensation next season - with the latter often seen as more advisable.

One would hope that a player of Kane's caliber would behave more professionally over recent months. His public discussions of a "gentleman's agreement" and refusal to report for training were detrimental to Spurs and caused by bad advice; such tactics only serve to harm long-term prospects and reputation of player - not what Spurs seek in its most prized assets.

2. Kane’s response

Kane has repeatedly indicated his preference to remain at Tottenham and win more silverware with them rather than joining any Bundesliga club. Despite transfer speculation linking him with Bayern Munich's Bundesliga champions, the 29-year-old remains firm in his desire to stay with North London side and stay as part of its Lilywhites squad.

Levy has no plans of selling Kane this summer to any Premier League rival. Manchester City have been linked with him, though any move would likely break their budget given his wage structure at Southampton and Levy's club's tight financial situation.

Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has reportedly expressed an interest in signing Tottenham striker Harry Kane after seeing how well he performed under former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino. Bayern's offer could reach EUR100 million (PS86 million).

Uncertain of their acceptance, Spurs are scheduled to meet with Bayern Munich representatives soon according to Bundesliga transfer guru Fabrizio Romano of CaughtOffside - likely on Friday as scheduled.
