Which are the two Types of Thermal Printing?
Thermal Printing

The printer generates heat in specific areas to create images or text on the thermal paper. There are two primary types of Thermal Printing technologies: direct thermal and thermal transfer.

Direct thermal printing is the simpler of the two methods. In this process, the printer's thermal printhead contains many tiny heating elements arranged in a grid pattern. When the elements come in contact with the heat-sensitive paper, they heat up selectively, causing the coating to change color and form the desired image. No ink, ribbon, or toner is required in direct Thermal Printing, making it a cost-effective and low-maintenance option.

However, direct thermal printing has some limitations. The images or text produced by this method are sensitive to environmental factors like heat, light, and moisture. Over time, direct thermal prints may fade or darken, reducing their longevity. Additionally, direct thermal printers are primarily used for black and white printing, limiting their color printing capabilities.
